Who We Are:

The Amsterdam Waterfront Foundation (AWF) is a group of dedicated volunteers, including it's Board of Directors, that work tirelessly to bring both residents and visitors of the City of Amsterdam a fun and free experience.

Throughout the summer season in Riverlink Park there are free civic concerts, fireworks, fundraisers, and a host of activities geared toward children, teens, adults and senior citizens alike.

Some of our future endeavors will include expansion of Riverlink Park, the connecting of Riverlink Park with Guy Park Manor, a pedestrian bridge to the south side of the city, further development of the South Side and acquisition of a tour boat.

Our Focus and Start:

The Amsterdam Waterfront Foundation was formed to promote the development and use of the Mohawk River and Erie Canal, and more specifically the waterfront area. We have to date successfully raised more than $2 million dollars for the construction of Riverlink Park and Visitors' Center alone.

Initial contributions from the State of New York, Amsterdam Savings Bank (now First Niagara), Saint Mary's Hospital of Amsterdam, the Children's Aid Society and Centro Civico of Amsterdam got the project rolling. Continued support from volunteers and other contributors has allowed the AWF to continue its mission and expand its horizons.

When we Meet:

The Board Of Directors meets every second Monday of the month 6 p.m. at Pasqualli's Steakhouse located in the Americas Best Value Inn Amsterdam.  The meetings are open to the public, and all are encouraged to attend.  Please come join us!

From the Board:
We would like to thank you for visiting our web site.

We invite you to not only look around the site, but also invite you to look around and enjoy Riverlink Park as well.

On the left hand side of the page you will notice links to different pages on various projects going on with our city's waterfront.

Please take a look at them, and would really like to hear your feedback on any of them.  After all, the waterfront is there for all to enjoy, both residents and visitors alike.
