Our
Mission: Preserve and develop the City of Amsterdam’s
waterfront.
The mission includes:
 | Advocate for and advise on critical
waterfront development and related projects. |
| Provide a conduit for grant and
fundraising opportunities. |
| Promote the waterfront for water
and land side related uses and users. |
| Promote and sponsor park use,
events, festivals, marina, etc. |
| Promote maintenance and
beautification of the park and surrounding waterfront area. |
| Achieve a financially sustainable
organization to manage and operate the park, restaurant, boat services,
cultural opportunities, business information, and other associated items. |

The Erie Canal is famous
in song and story.
Proposed in 1808 and completed in 1825, the
canal links the waters of
Lake Erie in the west to the
Hudson River in the east.
An engineering marvel
when it was built, some called it the Eighth Wonder
of the World. |
